Wendy R.  Cohen

President/ Founding Director

Wendy has a BA in Secondary Language Arts with a minor in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. She has taught English, Health, Psychology, Critical Skills, Civics and various other courses and coached in public school system for the past 24 years. 13 of those years were spent working with high risk students. She has been part of the Hispanic Educational Leadership Program, Affective Skills training, Crossroad’s Safehouse Lacy’s Place Advisory Committee, American Lung Association smoking cessation trainer for 10 years, worked with Bob McCluskey, Steve Johnson and Sheriff Jim Alderden to implement Lacy’s Law.

 

Dr. Don Unger

Vice President

Former school superintendent, high school principal, former science teacher

Dr. Unger is now an educational consultant.

 

Bernadette Martinez Felix

Secretary/Treasurer

Berna is 8th Judicial District Probation Officer lll- Restorative Justice Coordinator- Victim Assistant Coordinator, Family Group Conferencing Facilitator, Victim Empathy Class Facilitator (Adult and Juvenile Offenders)

 

 

Dr. Oscar Felix

Director of the Center for Educational Access and Outreach at Colorado State University.  The Center conducts a variety of programs designed to widen participationin college by persons from underrepresented backgrounds.  The Center’s budget of over $1.4 million is comprised mostly of federal grants, foundation/corporate giving, and an endowment established from a personal bequest.  Oscar also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education masters program where he teaches ethics.

 

Dr. Clarence Carlson

Member

Clare is a retired CSU professor from the department of Wildlife Biology. He also was a professor at Cornell University in Ithaca New York. He is a patient Liaison with the Poudre Valley Hospital. He was the president of Colorado-Wyoming Fisheries Education Section

 

Eileen Carlson

Member

She received her masters at Cornell University in Teaching Biology, her counseling certification from the CSU Graduate Program. She is a retired Science teacher from the Poudre School District. She was a teacher mentor, worked with Juvenile Probation, Youth Services, Social Services, Mental health and the District Attorney’s office. She was a group facilitator for students with substance abuse, divorce, loss and step family issues.
